Your values will create the filters necessary to assess what college or university will be a great fit for you (both in terms of academics and potential student environment). In this session, we will dive deeper into your values and those filters that highlight how you can approach your college search. Through engaging exercises, students will walk away with a core understanding of how to build their college list.
Part 2: Building Your College List
Building off of part one of our series, this session will focus on setting the roadmap towards applications. Identifying how to curate a list that connects to your passions and goals. Topics covered will also include understanding application deadlines, awareness of various application platforms, and understanding aid opportunities. Practical tools will also be shared to organize your list and prepare for application deadlines.
Part 3: Crafting Your Personal Statement
One of the most important sections of your application is the personal statement, but how can you craft an essay that can describe who you are to an admissions committee in 650 words or less? This course will provide guidance on how to approach writing your personal statement; from topic selection, to drafting, to finalizing your essay. Additionally, insight will be shared on how your personal statement is reviewed in the context of your overall application.
