Jen Bacquet grew up in Los Angeles, California. After several years working in Finance and Technology in San Francisco, she decided to become a teacher driven by her desire to make positive contributions to disadvantaged communities. Jen also received her Master’s in International Education with an emphasis on curriculum development, formative assessment and alternate pedagogy. She has taught in Thailand, Myanmar and Japan and has worked with local communities to broaden their opportunities through the use of English. Jen is driven by her passion to make education an inclusive experience, while promoting equity and cultural diversity. She likes to keep her students engaged by using authentic materials that are relatable to them and their context. Her teaching centers on helping students become independent and self-motivated while fostering collaboration through project-based and task-based learning.When she is not working, Jen enjoys cooking, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
